Orgelkonzert Bruckners um 15 Uhr im Kristallpalast. Er spielt Mendelssohn, Bach und Improvisationen, auch wieder über Händels »Halleluja« (**).

 

"The Key" berichtet von den Orgelkonzerten [in der Royal Albert Hall?]:
"The court organist of Vienna, Anton Bruckner, was third at the organ and announced specially as great in 'extemperaneous performances'. We were told that 'Herr Bruckner's strong ponts are classical improvisations on the works of Handel, Bach and Mendelssohn'. He has given us a grand extempory Fantasia, which although not very original in thought as design, was clever, remarkable for its canonic counterpoint, and for the surmounting of much difficulty in the pedal passages."
