The Chicago Tribune informiert auf S. 11 in der 4. Spalte über die Saison in New York [7. Symphonie am 12./13.11.1886]:
"   SOCIETY AT THE OPERA.
THE SEASON TO BE OPENED IN NEW YORK WITH UNWONTED SPLENDOR.

[... Inhaltsübersicht ... Opernspielplan ... "German opera" bis 28.2.1887 ... National Opera ...].
     Devoting himself to his opera enterprise, Mr. Theodore Thomas will not produce many concerts this winter. [...] The New York Philharmonic Society will give six concerts at the Metropolitan Opera-House, and as these are the most popular concerts of the season I give the programs in full, as an indication of the present musical taste of the local public The first concert will be given next Saturday night, Nov. 13, and the following selections will be rendered: [... Beethoven 3. "Leonore", Schumann 1. Sinfonie, Rubinstein (aus  "Nero") ...]; symphony, No. 7, E major, Bruckner. This last work is a novelty in America. The second concert [...]." [keine Signatur].
