Viel ausführlicher als am 25.9.1898 berichtet The Philhadelphia Inquirer Nr. 94 (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) auf S. 8 über Gerickes Rückkehr nach Boston und seine Pläne:
" GERICKE RETURNS
The Boston Symphony Orchestra Conductor Tells oh His Plans
There is no surer indication of the fine development towards a serious appreciation of great music in this country [... Gerickes Bedeutung, Höchstpreise für das Proben-Abonnement ... Interview ...].
"What are your plans?" the reporter asked.
"Well, the first few programs you can see for yourself. You see among them only familiar names. [... alte und moderne Meister, auch amerikanische Komponisten ...].
"Among the novelties that I have chosen are symphonies by Bruckner, Sinding and Gilson. Gilson is a young Frenchman [...].
" MUSIC
[... Konzerte in Brooklyn ...].
The season of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, which will begin an October 15th. promises to be one of the most brilliant ever given by the organization. [... Gericke fand im Sommer nur wenige aufführenswerte Novitäten ...]. The only two important new works to be given are symphonies by Sinding and Bruckner. Other notable performances [... "Manfred", Beethovens Neunte ... Liste der Solisten ... Programm des ersten Konzerts ...]." (**).
"WILLIAM GERICKE RETURNS TO AMERICA
[...]
In discussing his plans, Herr Gericke said that of the many new works which he had regiliously gone over, he had thus far concluded to give only two, viz.: The symphonies of Sinding and the symphonies of Bruckner. He may not, however, give them in New York, their rendition there depending greatly upon their success in Boston. [... Konzerte in NY in der Carnegie Hall ...]." (***).
