The Inter Ocean Nr. 327 (Chicago, Illinois) kündigt auf S. 40 die Aufführung der 9. Symphonie [am 19.2.1904 und 20.2.1904] an:
"                   Music of the Week.
     This week will be filled with music, [... Kammermusik ...].
     The Friday afternoon and Saturday evening concerts of the Chicago orchestra this week will mark the sixteenth of the curent series, and will, as usual, be under the direction of Mr. Thomas. A number of unfamiliar works [... im 1. Teil: Gluck (Alceste), Mozart (Titus) ...], Anton Bruckner's last (unfinished) symphony, and Franz Schubert's great song, "Die Allmacht." [... Solistin Ernestine Schumann-Heink (Debut in diesen Konzerten) ...]. In these occasions the Bruckner symphony–which the composer did not live long enough to complete–will be performed for the first time in this country.
     Following the usual intermission will come a group of Wagner selections. The following reprint of the program shows the detailed arrangement:
