The Gazette Nr. 6819 (York, Pennsylvania) erwähnt auf S. 5 Bruckner in Zusammenhang mit Karl Pohlig:
"    Through the courtesy of the king of Wurtemberg, Carl Pohlig, director of the Imperial orchestra at Stuttgart, has been secured by the Philadelphia Orchestra association as the successor to the late Fritz Scheel. Herr Pohlig was recommended to Mr. Charles Augustus Davis, who went abroad in search of a new conductor by such authorities as Felix Molte [sic], Dr. Otto Neitzel, Ernest von Schuch and Felix Weingartner. He enjoys a wide reputation as a composer, has had much orchestral experience and is noted as an interpreter of Wagner, Bruckner and Liszt.
