Bruckner wird erwähnt in einem Musikbrief aus New York, der in The Times Nr. 39188 (London) auf S. 11 erscheint:
"                            MUSIC.
      THE AMERICAN MUSIC SOCIETY.
[... über den Verein ... Konzert mit Auftragskompositionen und einem Klavierquintett von Edgar Stillman Kelley ...].
Mr. Kelley, who was born in Wisconsin in 1857 and is now living in Berlin. [... Ausbildung, Werke ... zu den einzelnen Sätzen des Quintetts ...]. Mr. Kelley has made, as several of his published critical essays testify, a thorough study of the priniciples of modern harmony, and especially of the socalled "modulating sequence," as it is found in the works of such composers (in other respects so diverse) as Wagner, Franck, and Bruckner; and in his Finale are many of these modulating sequences, which are highly interesting on a first hearing, and which deserve study.     [...]."
