The Gazette Nr. 17 (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) erwähnt Bruckner in einem Artikel über die Strauß-Dynastie auf S. 2:

[... demnächst Gastspiel mit "Fledermaus" ... Joseph Strauß im 17. Jahrhundert ... Johann Strauß Vater ... Johann Strauß Sohn ...] is recognized as one of the world's greatest composers [... geschätzt von Richard Wagner, Liszt ...]. Brahms ranked Strauss as a genius, and Carl Goldsmith [sic (gemeint Carl Goldmark?)] and Anton Bruckner paid him homage. His two brothers, Joseph, born 1827, and Edward, born 1835, come next. [...] Lastly, though not leastly, and of no relationship to the preceding, comes Richard, born 1864, [...]. He is now the only living composer bearing the world renowned name of Strauss."
