Im Zusammenhang mit Johann Strauß, wie am 19.1.1912, wird Bruckner in The Washington Times Nr. 7363 auf S. 9 erwähnt:
"THEATER NOTES
[...]
Johann Strauss wrote the music of "Nights Birds," [...]. Wagner considered Strauss' waltzes fine, masterly music. Liszt has paraphrased them–and he loved to direct them. Brahms ranked Strauss as a genius. Carl Goldsmith [sic (gemeint Carl Goldmark?)] and Anton Bruckner paid him homage." (**)
und in The Detroit Free Press Nr. 146 auf S. 4:
" SIX COMPOSERS HAVE BORNE NAME
Some Interesting Data Concerning the Great Strauss Family.
The coming of Fritzi Scheff to the Garrick theater this week [... "Fledermaus" ... Joseph Strauß im 17. Jahrhundert ... Johann Strauß Vater ... Johann Strauß Sohn ...]. Wagner considered the Strauss waltzes "very fine, masterly music." Liszt paraphrased them and he loved to direct them. Brahms ranked Strauss as a genius, and Carl Goldsmith [sic] and Anton Bruckner paid him homage. His two brothers, Joseph, born 1827, and Edward, born 1835, come next. [...]. Last, though not least, comes Richard Strauss, born 1864, [...]." (***).
