The Nebraska State Journal (Lincoln, Nebraska) bringt auf S. 21 (= S. 5 des 2. Teils) Auszüge aus zwei Artikeln, in deren einem Bruckner kurz erwähnt wird:
"GENERAL MUSICALE [sic] NEWS.
[...]
Those who had hoped that the sixteen-year-old Enrich [sic] Knorngold [sic] would prove the musical genius of the immediate future had serious doubts on listening to his sonata for piano ans violin, recently played [...]. A few weeks ago Nikisch conducted in Berlin the latest Knorgold work, a Sinfonietta, of which Arthur M. Abell writes in the Musical Courier: "Knorngold's work might properly be called a symphony, for it lasts nearly an hour, [...]. There are some marvellous contrapuntal effects in the scherzo, a movement that now and then has a suggestion of Bruckner. The andante opens with a lovely, beautiful, dreamy theme for the English horn. [...]. Indeed, the whole composition is the work of a creative genius of a most extraordinary charcater.
"If Knorngold succeeds in emancipating himself from the influence of Strauss and Puccini, he may become the musical messiah for which our epoch is longing. [... die nächsten Jahre] will tell the story of his permanent influence upon the immediate musical future."–New York Evening Post."
