Die University Missourian Nr. 207 (The Evening Missourian, Columbia, Missouri) schreibt auf S. 1 über einen Orgelschüler Bruckners, William Henry Pommer:
"   "CUPID IN ARCADY" TO END WEEK
[...]
     The song cycle will be sung in the University Auditorium Saturday night under the auspices of the Columbia Choral Society and the direction of William H. Pommer, professor of music in the University. [... über das Werk und andere Kompositionen  Pommers ... Abbildung "Prof. W. H. Pommer." ...].
     Professor Pommer was born in St. Louis, where he first studied music. Later he studied in Europe, at the Royal Conservatory at Leipsic for two years, as a pupil of Reinckie [sic], of Powell and of Richter. He was in Vienna one year as a pupil of Anton Bruckner in organ and counterpoint. He also studied under Viktor Rokitansky.
     For a year he was director of the celebrated Arion Club of Milwaukee. [... 6 Jahre St. Louis, jetzt Columbia ...]."
