MUSIC AND DRAMA.
Much interesting music has been produced of late. There is a "boom" in Gustav Mahler's complicated symphonies. [...]. In his symphonies he uses a tremendous orchestra, and often soli and choir. He was a pupil of Anton Bruckner, whose work influenced him much. Several excellent conductors have given capital renderings of Mahler's music during recent weeks."
