Bruckner wird kurz erwähnt in The Pittsburgh Daily Post Nr. 108 auf S. 61 (= S. 5 des 6. Teils):

Jazz–A World Disease.
     If I had my life to live over again, [... Vision einer neuen Lebensgestaltung ...]. After I'd have learned the bleating, smashing technique of the required instrument, I'd go through the archives of music and become familiar with all the classics, from Bach to Brahms, from Beethoven to Bruckner and I'd learn them inside out. Not to play them as they are, God forbid that a well-schooled jazzist should stoop so low, but merely to rag them in the prevailing fashion. I'd never learn a note of composition, that would be time lost, [... ausführlich in diesem Stil weiter ... über einen Bariton ... über neue Musikalien ...]." (**).
