"Vienna State Academy Test High Standard

     Vienna's newest university the State Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, has just opened its door for the first season. [... Zulassungsverfahren, Vorgeschichte ...].

     From the beginning, the Conservatorium's staff included the most famous teachers of their day. Joseph Hellmesberger, Anton Bruckner, Franz Schreker, Arnold Rose, Emil Sauer and many others. Among the students have been Hans Richter, Felix Mottl, Arthur Nikisch, Hugo Wolf, Karl Goldmark, Arnold Schonberg, Fritz Kreisler, and Erika Morini and among women singers, Mildenburg, Lucie Weidt, Marie Ivogun, and Helene Wildbrunn.

     Until now the academy has been regarded as a sort of high school, and consequently placed at a disadvantage with the universities of music in Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Munich, and Leipzig. [... jetzige Struktur (Josef Marx) ...]."
