The Manchester Guardian Nr. 24686 bringt auf S. 5 eine Buchbesprechung (signiert "R. B."), in der Bruckner erwähnt wird:
" NEW BOOKS.
A GERMAN MUSIC CRITIC'S BOOK
THE PROBLEM OF MODERN MUSIC. By Adolf Weissmann. Translated by M. M. Bozman. London: Dent and Sons. Pp. xxiv. 244. 6s net.
This book might have been called "The Sickness of Modern Music." [...] the essential sanity of the "eternal return" to first principles. In the idolisation of Brahms ("pensive reflection of Bach"), "exaggerated as it has been during the last two decades," he discovers an important sign of the times, and we may yet see, he thinks, the weary Futurist being led back to the source of music by the hand of the gentle Bruckner. The outlook is hopeful:
The present morbid dread of the commonplace will soon be forgotten. . . . The younger composers are not entirely destructive. [... etc.etc.]. In music, according to Dr. Weissmann, England, once again, counts.
