The Leader-Post Nr. 94 (Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada) schreibt auf S. 23 über Ernst Kreneks Oper "Jonny spielt auf":

"          In The Music World

"Johnny Strikes Up," the new jazz opera, and "Lady X," jazz operetta, also brand new, have convulsed Vienna. Icing has always been a strong feature in the Viennese cake. Its solid body, Nadyn [sic, recte Haydn], Mozart, Beethoven, Bruckner, Schubert, Wolf, Strauss (Richard), has always had its almond paste and tinsel, a la Johann Strauss and the "Merry Widow." And now, to sweeten the profundities, and vary preparations for this summer's huge Schubert centenary (Schubert died in 1828), syncopated opera!
