Teils) die Besonderheiten von open-air-Konzerten und beruft sich u. a. auf die New Yorker Kritiker Winthrop Tryon (Christian Science Monitor) und Lawrence Gilman (New York Herald-Tribune):

"[... Lewisohn Stadium, Hollywwod Bowl ... Tryon sieht bei manchen Werken Vorteile ...]. And the particular numbers he mentions are symphonies of Bruckner and of Mahler, pieces of music constructed on an extended plan with instrumentation of the most elaborated sort. [...
