Edward Moore befasst sich im Artikel "Making Movies of Symphonies May Be Next" in der Chicago Tribune Nr. 19 (Sonntagsausgabe) auf S. 96 (= S. 2 des 7. Teils) mit der Möglichkeit, symphonische Musik u. a. mit den Mitteln des Schauspiels oder Tanzes auszudrücken (wie es in New York mit dem "Heldenleben" geschehen ist) und zitiert einen Artikel von W. J. Henderson in The Sun:

"[...]

         Why Not Dance Bach Fugues?

[...] Why has no one deemed it advisable to interpret the fourth symphony of Brahms, or the second of Bruckner, or the eighth of Mahler? And as for tone poems, they are fairly littering the ground in the path of the interpreters. [...]." (**).

Hendersons Artikel erscheint auch in The Courier-Journal Nr. 22047 (Louisville, Kentucky) auf S. 26 (= S. 2 des 3. Teils):

"THE chief end of terpsichorean artists just now appears to be the interpretation of symphonies, tone poems and other musical monsrosities [sic] which are obviously incomprehensible to ordinary mortals, unless turned into moving pictures. [...].

     [...] Why has no one deemed it advisable to interpret the fourth symphony of Brahms, or the second of Bruckner, or the eighth of Mahler? And as for tone poems, they are fairly littering the ground in the path of the interpreters. [...]." (***).
