"     PROFESSOR BRUCKNER.–When the International Exhibition and Royal Albert-hall were opened, the council issued an invitation to artists of all nations to come over and test the excellence of the great organ. Amongst those who accepted this invitation was Herr Anton Bruckner, court organist and professor at the Conservatoire of Vienna. The performances of this musician are quite worthy of the fatherland of Haydn and Mozart. Herr Bruckner executes the classical compositions of Bach, Mendelssohn, and others; and has espescially charmed the audience who heard him at the Albert-hall by his improvisations." (**)

und The Morning Post Nr. 30493 auf S. 5:
"     PROFESSOR BRUCKNER FROM VIENNA.–When the International Exhibition and Royal Albert Hall were opened the council issued an invitation to artists of all nations to come over and test the excellence of the great organ. Amongst those who accepted this invitation was Herr Anton Bruckner, court organist and professor at the Conservatoire of Vienna. The performances by this disciple of art are truly excellent, and quite worthy of the land of Haydn and Mozart. Herr Bruckner executes the classical compositions of Bach, Mendelssohn, and others with a facility which leaves the hearer nothing to desire, and which would certainly even satisfy the composers themselves in the highest degree. Bat Herr Bruckner excels in his improvisations, in which he displays a great facility and abundance of ideas, and an ingenious method by which such ideas are carried out. The London public fas fully acknowledged Herr Bruckner's perfect execution, and many have expressed a hope that this first visit may not be tha last." (***).

»Die deutsche Volksschule«, 19. Jahrgang, Nr. 17, meldet auf S. 270 in der Rubrik »Schulnachrichten«:
»Hr. Prof. Anton Bruckner) hat beim Orgelwettspiele in London den ersten Preis errungen. Oberösterreich, darfst stolz sein auf deinen Sohn!« (°).
