Die Büste müsse aus dem Nachlaß Tilgners angekauft werden. Über Bruckners Bedeutung. Kürzlich habe Dr. Egon Oppolzer sich für das Denkmal eingesetzt und zugleich eine namhafte Spende geleistet (*).

 

The Buffalo Sunday Times Nr. 9 (The Buffalo Times, New York) verwendet auf S. 17 den vom 16.10.1898 bekannten Text:
"               MUSICAL MATTERS

[...]

     Herr Schalk, the new conductor, who comes to take Anton Seidl's place, was born in Vienna in 1863 and played the violin there in an orchestra of the Royal Opera. Anton Bruckner, to whose symphonies Mr. Thomas has introduced us, advised him to devote himself to conducting, and on the recommendation of the composer he was engaged for the Stadt Theater in Graz. [....]." (**).
