The Chicago Tribune Nr. 344 bringt auf S. 41 den schon vom 3.12.1899 bekannten Vergleich zwischen Bruckners Werken und Beethovens Hammerklaviersonate:
"     A monument to the memory of Anton Bruckner, the composer of many symphonies and much else, has been erected in the Stadtpark of Vienna. The imperial city believed in Bruckner, and is faithful to his memory. Dr. Richter believed, also, and became the apostle of his works in England. But he preached mainly to unappreciative ears. If any exclaimed "Bella!" they probably added, like Guiglini, after listening to Beethoven's great sonata in B flat, "ma lunga!"
