Aufführung der 7. Symphonie unter Henry Wood im 47. Promenaden-Konzert in der Queen's Hall in London.
Auf dem Programm stehen außerdem Werke von Gluck, Boellmann, Liszt, Sullivan, Grieg, Saint-Saens, d'Hartelot, David Popper, Robert Schumann und Joseph Gungl.
Wood schreibt in seiner Autobiographie (My Life of Music, 1938): "On October 15 I produced Bruckner's seventh symphony. This was the first and last performance at the Promenades. The public would not have it then; neither will they now. Perhaps Bruckner is only appreciated in Austria? The length of his symphonies alone is prejudical to their success, but I often play his delightful overture in G. minor and am always sure of a ready response." (*).
