"The Illness of E. A. MacDowell.
A MOVEMENT has been started in the east to form a musical society similar in character to those which have existed in the past and still exist in Europe, having as their object the making known of the artistic works of some composers whose abilities are recognized as being out of ordinary. The Wagner Verein, which made Baireuth [sic] possible, was one of the widest known of such organizations, the friends of Bruckner made similar propaganda for him and his works, there recently has been formed a Hugo Wolf society [... etc. ... ernste Erkrankung von MacDowell (43 J. alt) ... Bericht von Henry T. Finck (Kritiker der New York Evening Post) ... Gründung einer MacDowell Society in New York ...].

Singles from Symphonies.
THE appearance on the program of the popular concert given last week by the Thomas orchestra of single movements from two symphonies brought realization of how excellent is the plan which Mr. Stock had adopted. [... Beispiele (Rubinstein, Mendelssohn)] totally unfamiliar symphonies of Schubert, which could be brought forward with advantage to the concert goer's education and enjoyment; Bruckner might be made endurable if not thrust down our throats in such strangling doses as he has had to be in the past; the French symphonists might be occasionally be represented, [... sogar Beethoven? ...] a step in the right direction." [keine Signatur] (**).

The Boston Globe Nr. 156 (The Boston Sunday Globe) kündigt auf S. 38 die Aufführungen des "Te deum" am 11./12.12.1905 an:
"                    WAGE-EARNERS' CONCERT.
The first wage-earner's concert comes Dec 11 at Symphony hall, the evening before the regular Cecilia concert. The program includes Bruckner's Grand Te Deum, Debussy's "Blessed Damosel" and "The Departure of Hiawatha" by Coleridge-Taylor. The soloists are Mrs Corinne Rider-Kelsey, who makes her first Boston appearance; Mrs Bertha Cushing Child, Miss Lilla Ormond, Mr Ellison Van Hoose, Mr Stephen Townsend and Mr Charles Delmont.
Later will be sung [... kurz zu den nächsten Konzerten und zum Kartenverkauf ...]." (***).
