"              THE HALLÉ CONCERTS.

     The Hallé Concerts Society held its annual meeting yesterday at the offices in Manchester, with Mr. E. J. Broadfield in the chair.

     Let me give you a list of the composers who have been represented at the orchestral concerts during the past year. I venture to say that it will confirm my statement that we have sufficiently considered the claims of ancient and modern music:–Bach, Beethoven, Berlioz, Yorke Bowen, Brahms Max Bruch, Brückner, Edgar [sic], Dvoràk, [... bis Wagner ... Chorwerke ...].

                     THE WORKS GIVEN.

     [... Richard Strauss ...]. "The Dream of Gerontius" was repeated, to the great satisfaction of an enormous audience, and symphonies by Brückner and by César Franck were heard for the first time, in addition to great orchestral works by Liszt, Berlioz, and others. [... Chorwerke ...].

     Turning to the arrangements for the forthcoming season [... 6 Chorkonzerte ...].

     The orchestral works which will probably be given next season include at least three of Beethoven's Symphonies, Brahms's Fourth, Schumann's First, Bruckner's Third [3. Symphonie am 28.2.1907], Berlioz's "Harold in Italy," [... weitere Werke ... Verlauf der Sitzung ...]."
