Die Altoona Tribune Nr. 229 (Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pennsylvania) bringt auf S. 7 den Bericht über das Konzert mit der 9. Symphonie in Leipzig [am 15.11.1906]:

"     Herr Nikisch, conducting a performance of Bruckner's "Ninth Symphony" at Leipzic, created a sensation by rising suddenly from his seat and addressing the fashionable audience. He upbraided the women for staring at him through their opera glasses. "Your conduct," he exclaimed, "makes me so nervous that I cannot continue conducting."
