The Post-Star Nr. 608 (The Morning Star, Glens Falls, New York) berichtet auf S. 3 vom Vorfall bei der Aufführung der 9. Symphonie in Leipzig [am 15.11.1906]:
"    Herr Nikisch, conducting a performance of Bruckner's Ninth Symphony at Leipzic, created a sensation by rising suddenly from his seat and addressing the fashionable audience. He upbraided the women for staring at him through their opera glasses. "Your conduct," he exclaimed, "makes me so nervous that I cannot continue conducting."
