The Atchinson Daily Globe Nr. 5552 (Atchinson, Kansas) bringt auf S. 2 den Bericht vom Vorfall bei der Aufführung der 9. Symphonie in Leipzig [am 15.11.1906] – (es sind auch die benachbarten Texte identisch mit denen in früheren Veröffentlichungen!):

"     Herr Nikisch, conducting a performance of Bruckner's Ninth Symphony at Leipzic, created a sensation by rising suddenly from his seat and addressing the fashionable audience. He upbraided the women for staring at him through their opera glasses. "Your conduct," he exclaimed, "makes me so nervous that I cannot continue conducting."
