Aufführung der 3. Symphonie durch das Symphonieorchester Göteborg unter Wilhelm Stenhammar (*).

Postkarte von Friedrich Klose an Müller von Asow:
Einladung zu einer Opernaufführung [Bruckner erwähnt??] (**).

In einer Konzertbesprechung in The New York Times Nr. 18582 auf S. 10 wird Bruckner erwähnt:
"MAHLER'S SYMPHONY PLAYED.
[...]
Gustav Mahler conducted the second of his concerts with the New York Symphony Orchestra last evening in Carnegie Hall, and made his programme consist solely of his own second symphony. [... Charakteristika der Musik ...].
The specifically musical inspiration of the work is of widely differing value. It would be too much to say that it is not sometimes reminiscent. There are broad and sweeping themes in the first movement that are full of character, but with all the breadth of the treatment there is often a failure to carry it out with a true symphonic development. There is something in it that reminds the listener of Bruckner's methods–and Mahler was a pupil of Bruckner–in vast extension and reputation.
The second movement [... Besprechung der einzelnen Sätze ... zur Instrumentation ... Aufführung nicht ganz fehlerfrei ...]." [keine Signatur]. (***).
