The Manchester Guardian Nr. 19594 kündigt auf S. 6 die Aufführung der 2. Symphonie für die nächste Saison 1909/10 an:

"                The Halle Concerts.

     THIS year musical enthusiasts have looked forward to the annual meeting of the Hallé Concerts Society with more than usual interest, [... Hans Richter wieder verpflichtet ... erstmals Max Reger ...]. This recognition of REGER is, indeed, notably early in comparison with that of BRUCKNER, the second of whose Symphonies is to be given. It is an early worl by a composer of a past generation, so that its performance is perhaps rather a concession to the wiser of our fathers or grandfathers thau [sic] to the musical radicals of to-day. [... weitere Novitäten ...].

     [... zu viele Wiederholungen, auch bei Chorwerken (finanzielle Erwägungen) ... "all art is costly and its quality is its only excuse" ...]. The great works of other days [...] at times we do well to grow a little impatient of them." (*).

Die Saisonpläne werden auch auf Seite 12 im Bericht über die Versammlung des Konzertvereins erwähnt:

"               THE HALLÉ CONCERTS.

          NEW WORKS FOR NEXT SEASON.

     The annual mmeting of the Hallé  Concerts Society was held yesterday [... Vorsitzender E. J. Broadfield ... Hans Richter (hat Dreijahresvertrag) werde nicht alles dirigieren, Mr. Beidler ersetze ihn ... Rückblick auf vergangene Saison, Finanzen, Sponsoren (von den ersten 50 leben noch 34), von außen Kritik an der Programmpolitik (aber: Abonnentenzuwachs), zu wenig Moderne? ...].

            NEXT SEASON'S PROGRAMME.

     After describing the work of the last season [...] forecast of next season's programme. The choral works [... 5 Werke ...]. The symphonies next season would include Beethoven [... weitere 5 Komponisten ...], Brahms's Second, and Bruckner's Second.  Among the overtures were [...].

     The following works will be played for the first time [... 5 Werke ... Solisten ... Wortmeldungen ...]." (**).
