The Cincinnati Enquirer Nr. 306 stellt auf S. 60 (= S. 4 des 4. Teils) den neuen Dirigenten vor:
"             LOCAL MUSICAL ITEMS
The arrival of Dr. Kunwald in Cincinnati last Thursday brought to mind the close proximity of the opening of the Symphony season. [... in Europa auf die Saison vorbereitet (Partiturstudium etc., Soloauftritt im Dezember) ...].
Dr. Kunwald's position as to music is firmly grounded on the solid basis of the classic school; for while he has a great liking for most of the modern composers, notably Bruckner [3. Symphonie am 2./3.1.1914], for him the trinity on which all that is really valuable must be based–from which all development of the right sort must spring–is composed of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven [...]. In according this view, Dr. Kunwald, while not neglecting modern works, has put an unusually large number of the classic compositions in this season's Symphony programs.
