In einer Konzertbesprechung in The Times Nr. 42643 (London) auf S. 8 wird Bruckner erwähnt:

"  SIBELIUS IN ENGLAND.

     A new symphony by Sibelius is to be heard for the first time at Queen's Hall this afternoon [... über die Fünfte Symphonie und ihren Komponisten ... wichtige Werke werden oft erst spät anerkannt ...]. Sibelius's A minor Symphony does not so much contradict a current fashion as show him completely oblivious of all fashion. Listening to this work, it is quite impossible to refer it to any known symphonic standard. One may compare Elgar with César Franck, Scriabin with Liszt, Mahler with Bruckner and Berlioz, while almost all the minor symphonists of whatever country stand somewhere on Brahms's ladder, though many rungs below him.
