The Salt Lake Tribune Nr. 48 (Salt Lake City, Utah) bringt auf S. 6 eine Glosse, in der Bruckner erwähnt wird:

"     A Line o' Type or two

[...]

     "We are waiting patiently for the appearance of that group of reformers which will call stridently for a musical censor. Opera-librettos must be cleaned up, certain Strauss works suppressed, the passion eliminated from the pages of Chopin and Wagner, and Elman, Novates, Paderewski, Gigi [recte Gigli?] and Jeritza made to perform less sensuously. After that all would be well with the musical world."–Leonard Liebling in the Musical Courier.

     Speed the day! We've ever been eager for an expose of opera which would make clear (i) how come Lohengrin to be the son of Parsifal, [... (ii) Lucia, (iii) Pinkerton ...]. Of all the grander opera, "Il Trovatore" alone will go unwhipped of justice; [...].

     And, although opposed to all custodial and sumptuary legislation, we shall be happy to move with Amendment XX if a melodic Volstead and an aeolian Wayne B. Wheeler [siehe die Anmerkung] will so frame it as to make penal the offense of playing all symphonies by Bruckner, any symphony by Mahler, and stringed quartettes score for more than four instruments.

Kurt Singer schreibt in seiner Konzertumschau "Volkskunst, Einzelkunst" im Berliner Volksblatt "Vorwärts" Nr. 251 auf S. 2 über das Gastspiel des Wiener Deutschen Volksgesangvereins:

" [...] Vom österreichischen Volkslied bis zur Kunst Lanners und Strauß', Schuberts und Bruckners, vom Tanz der Alpenländer bis zum Scherzo der Wiener Klassiker ist der Weg nicht so weit. [...]." (**).
