Auf Seite 30 erscheint eine mit "E. B." [Elsa Bienenfeld] signierte Kritik zur Aufführung der 7. Symphonie unter Rudolf Siegel [am 3.12.1924] (***).

 

Die Österreichische Volkszeitung Nr. 341 bringt auf S. 11 eine mit "B. B-t." [Balduin Bricht] signierte Besprechung der Konzerte des Kaufmännischen Gesangvereins unter Ferdinand Großmann (mit der "Festkantate", WAB 16) [wann?] und des Vereins "Arminius" mit 2. und 3. Satz der 4. Symphonie [am 6.12.1924] (°).

Auf Seite 17 wird das Radioprogramm für 15.12.1924 mitgeteilt (°a).

 

Details zum morgigen Chorkonzert (mit einem "Tantum ergo" [prov. WAB 48] und dem "Locus iste") in "Radio Wien" Nr. 9 auf S. 2f (°°).

Auf Seite 3 wird ein Bruckner-Schüler erwähnt:
"Kammermusikabend [... Otto Siegl, Franz Ippisch ... Rudolf Huber, Klavierquintett ...] "RUDOLF HUBER (* 1880 in Wien) war Schüler von Anton Bruckner und Robert Fuchs und lebt als Kapellmeister und Komponist in Wien. Er schrieb bisher außer mehreren Opern und Liedern Bläserkammermusikwerke, 2 Streichquartette und 2 Klavierquintette." (°°a).

The Greenville News Nr. 249 (Greenville, South Carolina) informieren auf S. 11 über die Filmmusik, in die auch die 4. Symphonie Eingang gefunden hat:

"           FEATURE PICTURE HERE THIS WEEK

     Dr. Hugo Riesenfeld has arranged the musical score that will be played by an orchestra of twenty at the Textile Hall Wednesday and Thursday, December 17 and 18, matinee Thursday. The first part of the accompaniment, to scenes in Pharaoh's court and the exodus of the Israelites, is of decidedly Oriental flavor.

     A big original theme is used for the pursuit by Pharaoh's chariots and the scape [sic] of the children of Israel through the divided waters of the Red Sea. The director derives the lighter motifs of the ancient story from the romantic Bruckner's symphony. Accompanying the orgies of the Golden Calf worship, selections from Rubinstein's "Demon" opera are adapted:

     In the modern tale [... über den Schlussteil der Geschichte ...]. The final themes of healing–in the New Testament episode, and the scene of saving Mary from a fate worse than death–are adaptations from "Holy, Holy" and "The Rock of Ages." " (#).

    In responsie to hundreds of requests from invalids in institutions and other Western New Yorkers physically unable to attend the Majestic theater, the touring orchestra of "The Ten Commandments" under direction of Clarence West will broadcast the following program by WGR, at 7:50 p. m. next Monday evening, december 15: "Assembly of Pharaoh's Chariots", Goldmark's "Queen of Sheba;" "Thunderings from Mount Sinai", Bruckner's Symphony in F; "Bacchanal of Miriam and the Golden Calf Worship," Gounod's Ballet Music; "Waltz Lento for the Eurasian Woman", Dr. Riesenfeld; themes, "Holy! Holy! Holy!" and "The Rock of Ages." The short concert of excerpts will be over in good season for the musicians to return to the Majestic in time to play the full score of two hours and twenty minutes at the evening performance of the Cecil B.
