In Oscar Thompsons New Yorker Musikbrief in The Province Nr. 271 (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) auf S. 4 wird auch die Aufführung der 2. Symphonie [am 17./18.12.1925] erwähnt:

     Willem Mengelberg incorporated one of the now seldom played symphonies of Bruckner–the second, in C Minor–in a recent Philharmonic programme. It proved typical in that a wealth of good thematic material was defeated by the composer's weaknesses in details of structure and development, and by his tedious prolixity.
