Das Edmonton Journal Nr. 37 (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) bringt auf S. 12 einen Bericht der New Yorker Musikkritikerin Henrietta Strauss über das Musikfest in Frankfurt, in dem die Aufführung der 3. Symphonie durch die Wiener Philharmoniker unter Clemens Krauss [25.6.1927] erwähnt wird:

"[... Musikfest und Ausstellung ... täglich Konzerte, Opern ... in der Berichtswoche "Franz von Assisi" von Pierne, "Der fliegende Holländer" und zwei Konzerte der Wiener Philharmoniker, "genuine delight" ...]

     The first program offered the Overture to "Oberon," Strauss' Tone Poem, "Don Juan," and Bruckner's Third Symphony–all done well under the direction of Clemens Krauss, who proved to be an excellent if not unusual conductor.

     The second program gave a far greater joy with Schubert's Symphony in C Major, and four numbers by Johann Strauss, including the amusing and seldom-played "Perpetuum mobile." How gratefully Schumert's [sic] heavenly melodies fell upon the ear after the arid waste of Bruckner's score! One can not praise the Vienna Philharmonic too highly [...] the orchestra was accorded prima donna ovations."
