 In The Manchester Guardian Nr. 26038 wird auf S. 12 in einer Konzertbesprechung, signiert "N. C.", auch Bruckner erwähnt:
"          MAHLER AND HIS MUSIC.
[... Das Lied von der Erde ... Mahlers Stil, Einfluss der Wiener Atmosphäre ...]. It is because of a fundamental naiveté of outlook that Mahler is often discussed side by side with Bruckner. The difference between the two men is really considerable. With Bruckner it was an act of worship to build a symphony; he did not enter his cathedral of sound to find refuge, but simply and whole-heartedly to worship alone. And, lacking the worldliness of Mahler's technique, his music is not infrequently tedious to those who do not share Bruckner's faith. Mahler had as much prolixity of argument as Bruckner, but his music is never so tedious as Bruckner's because his orchestral style is more often than not fascinating in itself. [...].
