The Ridgewood Herald Nr. 26 (Ridgewood, New Jersey) berichtet auf S. 2 von einer dem Andenken Bruckners gewidmeten Komposition eines Bruckner-Schülers:

"       PATERSON PHILHARMONIC GIVES SPLENDID PROGRAM

     Between four and five hundred music lovers of Paterson and the surrounding communities, enjoyed the concert Monday evening in the Central high school, given by the Paterson Philharmonic Society, under the direction of Josef Totzauer, who led the orchestra of sixty-seven members, and John Festeneck, who directed the singing of a double quartet, and also the sextette of vocal artists.

     After the opening orchestral numbers, [... Teile einer "Missa Pro Memoria" von Festeneck ...].

     This new mass was written by Director Festeneck in commenoration [sic] of his fortieth year of activity as an organist. He is especially well-known in Ridgewood as organist of the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and recently participated in the opening of its new organ with Pietro Yon, of St. Patrick's Cathedral as guest artist.

     Already the preparation for the second concert for the Philharmonics is going on, when a newly organized large chorus will appear, under the direction of Mr. Festeneck. He will present his latest composition, "Du Bist Der Wald," interpreted in English meaning "Thou Art the Forest Where I Pray If I Have Gone Astray." Director Festeneck has dedicated his newest composition in honor of his teacher, the famous Viennese court organist, and composer, Anton Bruckner. It is a symphonic poem for orchestra, with chorus and solo obbligati.

     It is also interesting to announce to the many friends of Professor Festeneck that his "Festival Cantata," published by Carl Fischer in New York, will be sung by four thousand voices, with one hundred and twenty players in the orchestra, at the Buffalo Music Festival on July 4, 1932, the cantata having been accepted for production at that time."

Das Berliner Volksblatt "Vorwärts" Nr. 49 bringt auf S. 7 in der Rubrik "Funkwinkel" einen Rückblick auf das gestrige Radioprogramm. Zur 9. Symphonie heißt es:

"[...] – Den Abschluß des Abends bildete eine Aufführung von Bruckners 9. Sinfonie. Das Berliner Funkorchester spielte unter der Leitung von Oskar Fried. Man empfand die Darbietung dankbar als eine Erfüllung der Verheißungen, die bei der Eröffnung des neuen Funkhauses den Hörern gegeben wurden.       Tes." (**).
