"                BRUCKNER, THE SYMPHONIST
(Reprinted from Dr. Leichtentritt's article in the Musical Courier November 15, 1930, with permission of Mr. Liebling. Rev. Joseph A. Hauber.)
HOW BRUCKNER DIFFERS FROM OTHER SYMPHONISTS.
[... die Adagiosätze, die 1. Sätze – irrig: "A slow introduction never occurs in a Bruckner symphony" –, die Generalpausen ...] (To be Continued.)" (*).

In The Evening Sun (Baltimore, Maryland) berichtet auf S. 22 F. W. Strehlau vom Konzert des Guilford College Choir (aus North Carolina) am 28.3.1931 mit dem "Ave Maria" [WAB 6] und informiert auch über den Chor:
"                  Music
[...]
The Guilford Choir, consisting of more than forty voices–young men and young women – has made excellent progress under the direction of Max Noah, who seems to have caught the inspiration of F. Melius Christiansen and John Findlay [recte Finley?] Williamson, the latter the head of the famous Westminster Choir. The Carolinians gave a highly siginificant demonstration  of this progress in a recital at the Friends Meeting House on Charles street on Saturday.
There was a good attendance despite the pouring rain, and those who came were well rewarded for their temerity, for the choir sang Edward Grieg's "Jesus, Friend of Sinners," Anton Bruckner's "O Lord Most Holy," Albert Kranz's "The song of Mary," [... sieben weitere Werke ...] and some Negro spirituals. The freshness of voice, accuracy of intonation and spirituality stamped the ensemble as one of the best of vocal organizations." (**).
