The Detroit Free Press Nr. 13 bringt auf S. 5 den Bericht von Charlotte M. Tarsney vom letzten Tag des May Festivals in Ann Arbor [16.5.1931], wo in der Matinee die 9. Symphonie aufgeführt worden war.
"[...] read with deeply sympathetic style.

     Bruckner's work is redolent with the intense tone color, which he borrowed from Richard Wagner, but there is individuality of treatment, nine the less. The sonorous horn passages in the opening section create a mood for the hearer that holds the imagination and the themes and their ingenious development compel attention throughout. There are moments of epic power in Bruckner's Ninth and a mystical fervor that Mr. Stock and the orchestra admirably conveyed, along with its promotive strength. The pathos of the Adagio, its magnficent [sic] climax and the tranquility of its close were particularly impressive.

The Capital Times Nr. 154 (Madison, Wisconsin) bringt auf S. 16 einen Bericht vom Ann Arbor May Festival, in dem die Aufführung der 9. Symphonie am 16.5.1931 kurz erwähnt wird (***).

In einem Artikel von Ralph Lewando in The Pittsburgh Press Nr. 321 auf S. 71 (= S. 5 des Zeitungsteils) über die Pianistin Rebecca Davidson wird Bruckner kurz als einer der Komponisten erwähnt, die in Wien lebten und alle [sic] auf dem Zentralfriedhof beigesetzt sind (°).

Edward Moore erwähnt in der Chicago Tribune Nr. 20 auf S. 25 in seinem Bericht vom Ann Arbor May Festival die Aufführung der 9. Symphonie im Nachmittagskonzert [am 16.5.1931] (°°).
