Auf das Konzert vom 16.3.1888 (mit der 3. Symphonie) macht The New York Times Nr. 11398 auf S. 5 in der 2. Spalte aufmerksam:
"                 MUSICAL NOTES.

     The programme for Herr Seidl's second symphony concert, which is set down for Friday evening at Chickering Hall, is as follows: Beethoven's fifth piano concerto, W. H. Sherwood and orchestra; Anton Brückner's "Romantic Symphony" – first time in America – and the Tannhäuser" music as elaborated by Wagner for the special edification of the hard-hearted Parisians, including the overture and Venusberg music and the scene between Venus and Tannhäuser. Herr Kalisch and his bride will be the soloists." (**)

 

und auf Seite 7 mit einem Inserat in der 6. Spalte:

Ein nahezu identisches Inserat erscheint auch in der New York Tribune Nr. 15093 auf S. 7 in der 6. Spalte: "CHICKERING HALL.
