The Buffalo Enquirer meldet auf S. 5 in der 7. Spalte die Aufführung der 8. Symphonie [am 18.12.1892]: "THEATRICAL GOSSIP. [...]. Who in this country will have the temerity to bring out Bruckner's newest symphony? It sounds like a mixture of fairy-tale and nightmare to read that in Vienna it furnished the single item for the Philharmonic Society's fourth concert, that the work lasted one hour and a half, and that at the end of that time there was no end of recalls and laurel wreaths for the venerable composer."
