Die Aufführung der d-Moll-Messe [am 17.1.1897] wird erwähnt im Wiener Brief vom 16.2.1897, der in The Weekly Palladium Nr. 91 (Benton Harbor, Michigan) auf S. 1 veröffentlicht wird:

"LETTERS FROM VIENNA–XXI.
            [Inhaltsübersicht]
                    VIENNA, Austria, Feb. 16.
      EDITOR PALLADIUM: As time rolls by our list of acquaintances is swelling und includes none but very pleasant people, [... ausführlich über Besuche, Döbling und eine Probe des Singvereins unter Perger [für ein Konzert am 24.3.1897] mit anschließendem Vergnügungsabend ... Bedeutung und Tätigkeit des Singvereins ...]. this year they have already given "Elijah", "The Creation,", a Bruckner "Mass", the "Schubert Mass," two miscellaneous programs and will give the Bach "Passion Music" just before Easter, which will probably be their last effort this season.   NELLIE H. SMYTH."
