WAB 86] unter Karl Muck an: "Chopin, the high-strung Pole, is, in Rosenthal's judgment, the king of writers of the piano; [... plant Chopin in seiner Konzerttour ein ...]. Then Rosenthal is preaching the high excellence of Liszt, who, he declares, is just now coming into his own after the discredit that followed excessive praise; also of Brahms, whose mastery of musical structure appeals to Rosenthal's logical mind, and finally of Bruckner, to whose symphonies, it is rumored, Dr. Muck of the Boston Symphony Orchestra will this season give more prominence than they have had here before, and whose music he finds wonderful in ideas and beautiful in episodes, but lacking in logical development."
