Die gestrige Ankündigung der 8. Symphonie für Boston [12.3.1909] erscheint auch in The Pittsburg Press (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) auf S. 50 (= S. 6 des Woman's Magazine):

"                 ORCHESTRA'S NOVELTIES.

     Max Fiedler, the new conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, has made a partial list of the novelties which he expects to produce during the coming season. There are two symphonies in the list, Bruckner's Eighth which has never been played in Boston and possibly never in this country, and a new symphony by Paderewski [... auch Max Reger, Sibelius etc. ... Solisten ...]." (*)

 

und im Rochester Democrat and Chronicle (Rochester, New York) auf S. 16: "Musical Notes. [...]     Max Fiedler, the new conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, has made public a partial list [... identischer Text ...]." (*a),

 

leicht gekürzt in The Washington Post auf S. 2 [des Magazin-Teils?]:

"       MUSIC AND MUSICIANS

MAX FIEDLER, the new conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, has made public a partial list of the novelties he expects to produce during the coming season. There are two symphonies in the list, Bruckner's eighth, never before played in this country, and a new symphony by Paderewski [... auch Max Reger, Sibelius etc. ... Solisten ...]." (**).

 

Erwähnt wird dieser Plan auch in The Detroit Free Press Nr. 2 (Detroit, Michigan) auf S. 8:

"                       Detroit Orchestral Season.

     This season of the Detroit Orchestral association [...] will be of great value. [... NYSO unter Damrosch, Thomas Orchestra unter Frederick Stock, Pittsburg Orchestra (5.1.1919) ...] and the Boston men January 26. Max Fiedler, the Boston orchestra's new conductor, will give a number of new and important musical works in America this season. Bruckner's eighth symphony and a new symphony by Paderewski are among the number. Mr. Fiedler will also conduct a new overture by Max Reger." (***).

"New Conductor Of Boston Symphony Orchestra Will Present Many Novelties

                       BOSTON, September 26.

THE coming season brings to the Boston Symphony Orchestra a new conductor, the sixth that has been at the head of the organization. [... Konzertdirigent ... Lebenslauf (mit Abbildung) ... die ersten vier Konzertprogramme in Boston [ohne Bruckner] ...].

     From Mr. Fiedler has also come a list of some of the music new to the United States that he will undertake in the course of the year. It attests an alert curiosity, catholic intelligence and sympathy, close watch of the younger men, [... Paderewski, Max Reger, Sibelius, Nicodé, Glasunow ...]. He draws a dance from Max Schilling's opera "Moloch;" he has found a neglected piece of Tschaikovski; and he purposes to revive Bruckner's eighth symphony.

     Most interestingly of all, he intends to make known, in one or another tone-poem, a new composer, Fritz Delius, whose music [...] has begun to be heard in Europe with curiosity and applause." (°).
