"Mrs. Johanna Madden Back Grom Study With Busoni
Well Known Minneapolis Pianist Visits Famous Musicians and Sees Passion Play.
[...]
Mrs. Johanna Madden, who sailed June 9, with her pupil, Kathryn Fjelde, to study with Busoni in Berlin, has recently returned to Minneapolis where she has reopened her studio. [... Anreise über Kopengagen ... Berlin (Siegfried Wagners "Kobold", Kontakte mit Busoni) ... im August in Oberösterreich mit Schnabel (auch bei Leschetizky in Ischl, 80jährig mit 28jähriger Frau) ...].
Oberhoffer in Munich.
"The eightieth birthday of the emperor [... über Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck nach München], where we reveled in all art of which Munich so justly boasts. It is the one city which captivates the hearts of all art loving people. We heard Bruckner's 'Eighth Symphony" by an orchestra of 114 men in the Fest Halle, on the Exposition grounds. The Adagio was the most impressive I have ever heard. We met Mr. Oberhoffer as we were leaving the hall.
"In the Marionette theater we heard Mozart's 'Bastien and Bastienne' beautifully given. [... Oberammergau ... Sprachprobleme ...].
Friedlander in Minneapolis.
[... wird 5 Monate in Harvard engagiert sein ... etc. ...]."
