Aufführung der 4. Symphonie durch das Concertgebouworchester unter Evert Cornelis in Amsterdam (*).

 

Ein Inserat in The New York Times Nr. 20413 macht auf S. 76 (= S. 8 des 8. Teils) auf ein Chorkonzert [mit dem "Ave Maria" [vermutlich WAB 6]] am 16.12.1913 aufmerksam:

"   MUSICAL ART SOCIETY

            CHOIR OF 75 VOICES.

Christmas Concert, Tues., Dec. 16, 8:30

Works by Palestrina, Melchior Franck, Sweelinck, Brahms, Bruckner, Adam de la Hale [sic]. Christmas Carols. Old English Dances for Orchestra by Percy Grainger."

[in derselben Spalte ein Inserat zu einem Orgelvortrag über Leben und Werk Richard Wagners "in Motion Pictures."] (**).

 

The Hartford Courant weist auf S. 32 (= S. 10 des 3. Teils) mit einer kurzen Meldung auf dieses Konzert hin:

"     The Musical Art Society choir, under the direction of Frank Damrosch, will give its Christmas concert Tuesday evening at Carnegie Hall. Palestrina, Franck, Brahms and Bruckner will be among the composers represented on the program and there will be Christmas Carols, of course. Some old English dances will fall to the lot of the orchestra, under Percy Grainger's direction." (***).
