Aufführung eines Bruckner-Werks, "O Holy Father" [vermutlich, wie bei der Textfassung "O Lord Most Holy", das "Ave Maria" WAB 6], während des Vesper-Gottesdienstes in der First Presbyterian Church in Yonkers (*).

 

The Brooklyn Daily Eagle Nr. 334 kündigt auf S. 33 (= S. 5 des 3. Teils) die Aufführung des Quintetts am 5.12.1916 an:

"                 Kneisel's Second Concert.

    The Kneisel Quartet will give the second concert of its series at Aeolian Hall on Tuesday evening, December 5. The program will consists [sic] of the quintet in F mapor [sic] for two violins, two violas and violoncello, by Anton Bruckner, which has not been given before in New York; [... Mozart B-Dur KV 589, Tschaikowsky F-Dur op. 22 ...]. Mr. Louis Bostelman [sic] will assist in the Bruckner number." (**).

 

The New York Times Nr. 21498 schreibt auf S. 34 (= S. 10 des 2. Teils):

"         PROGRAMS OF THE WEEK

[...]

   The Kneisel Quartet will give the second concert of its series at Aeolian Hall on Tuesday evening. The program will consist of Bruckner's Quintet in F for two violins, two violas and 'cello, which is set down for first performance here; [... Mozart B-Dur KV 589, Tschaikowsky F-Dur op. 22 ...]. Louis Bostelmann will play the additional viola part in Bruckner's Quintet." (***).

 

The Sun Nr. 94 (New York) macht auf S. 29 (= S. 7 des 3. Teils) auf dieses Konzert aufmerksam:

"CONCERTS, RECITALS, NOTES OF MUSIC.

[...]

     The Kneisel Quartet at their second concert, to take place in Aeolian Hall on Tuesday evening, will offer this programme: Bruckner, quintet in F major, first time in New York; Mozart, quartet in B flat major, Koechel, No. 589; Tschaikowsky, quartet in F major, opus 22. The assisting artist will be Louis Bostelmann, viola." (°).

 

The Cincinnati Enquirer Nr. 338 kündigt auf S. 46 (= S. 2 des 3. Teils) die Aufführung der 7. Symphonie am 8./9.12.1916 an:

"               Matters Musical.

[...]

     Dr. Kunwald will open the program of the next pair of Symphony concerts Friday afternoon and Saturday evening at Emery Auditorium with an interesting survival, the overture to Cherubini's opera, "Anacreon." [... ausführlich über das Werk ... kann sich behaupten gegen die] music of modern composers.

     A representative of this style of music will be found in the Seventh Symphony in E major of Bruckner, which will be given its first Cincinnati performance. The symphony is regular in form and abounds in beautiful themes, which are developed with the greatest orchestral ingenuity.

     The third orchestral number [...Dvorak ...]." (°°).
