Besprechung der gestrigen Konzerte (nachmittags mit dem Quintett) in The Evening Star Nr. 31207 (Washington, D. C.) auf S. 4, signiert "H. F.":
"FESTIVAL TO END WITH 2 PROGRAMS
[... die heutigen Programme (mit Hindemiths Orgelkonzert) ... Mrs. Hoover mit Gästen im gestrigen Vormittagskonzert ...].
         Roth Quartet Gives Program.
In the afternoon the famous Roth String Quartet of Budapest, Hungary, gave the program. [... nur ein Quartettstück (Hugo Wolf) ...].
They were most ably assisted later by Egon Kornstein, viola, and Victor de Gomez, cello, in the two other numbers, "Quintet in F," a composition not unusually inspiring, and "Sextet in B Flat, Opus 18," by Brahms, the really satisfying and beautiful music of the afternoon. It seemed as though the Bruckner work might have been replaced to advantage with a quartet by Bela Bartok, one of the leading present-day composers of Hungary, whose compositions this group is said to play particularly well. The members of the quartet are: Feri Roth, first violin; Jeno Antal, second violin; Ferenc Molnar, viola, and Albert van Doorn, cello. [... gestern Empfang für die Künstler ...].          H. F."
