Das Amtsblatt der Wiener Zeitung Nr. 213 veröffentlicht auf S. 387 - 390 das Vorlesungsverzeichnis der Wiener Universität und meldet auf S. 390 unter "X. Fertigkeiten":

"     [... Stenographie, Gesangscurs unter Rudolf Weinwurm ...] – Harmonielehre: Vorbereitungslehre in Dur; Drei=, Vier= und Fünfklänge, ihre Vorbereitungen und Auflösungen; Verbindungen zu Perioden, bezifferter Baß, zwei Stunden wöchentlich, vom Lector Prof. Dr. Anton Bruckner. – [... Turnen, Fechtkunst ...]." (*).

 

The Boston Globe Nr. 79 erwähnt Bruckner auf S. 18 in der 4. Spalte:
"                 Symphony Concerts.
     The earliest announcement to be made regarding the coming musical season and of foremost importance is that of the Boston symphony orchestra. [... Beweis für das Interesse: Subskription für ein neues Konzertgebäude ... Saisonplanung ... Emil Paur als Nachfolger Nikischs bei einem der besten Orchester der Welt ...].
     He is but 38 years of age. A reliable musical authority in Leipzic has this to say on him:
     "In losing Emil Paur we lose an executive artist of extraordinary manysidedness, a director of eminent endowments, a musician of the most thorough education, [...].
     "Need we point out to the performances of the Liszt society and his interpretations of Berlioz, Liszt and Bruckner? How admirable were his performances! The best wishes of all follow him in his new career."
     No announcement can be made as to programs until the arrival of Mr Paur. [...]." (**).

 

Ankündigung der heutigen Aufführung des "Te deum" im St. Louis Globe-Democrat Nr. 121 auf S. 21 in der 3. Spalte:
"             WILL MEET TO-DAY.
Thirty-Eigth Convention of German Catholic Societies.
[...]
     Delegates to the thirty-eighth annual Convention of German Catholic Central Societies are arriving in considerable numbers, and this morning the exercises in connection with the Convention will begin. [... 50000 Mitglieder, 250 Delegationen erwartet ... Ablauf des heutigen Tages ...].
            TO-NIGHT'S CONCERT.
     This evening a great concert will be given at Music Hall. The Programme for this event is as follows:
[... 1. Tschaikowsky, 2. Wagner, 3. Grußadresse, 4. Liszt, 5. Grußadresse, 6. Jos. Lingenberger, 7. Grußadresse ...]

     The chorus at the concert will be composed of 250 singers from the choirs of the twenty German Catholic churches in the city and the German Catholic singing societies. The St. Louis Symphony orchestra will play the orchestral selections, and Prof. Jos. Otten will be director." [... Programm der nächsten Tage ...]

Die St. Louis Post-Dispatch Nr. 44 weist auf das Konzert auf S. 8 hin:
"              GERMAN CATHOLICS
[... über 300 Delegationen und bis 2000 Besucher erwartet ... weitere Persönlichkeiten: Felthaus, J. B. Schiffer, J. P. Brinckmann, William Casper, J. Mueller, G. Jansen ...].
              TO-DAY'S PROGRAMME.
     This morning at 9 o'clock the delegates will assemble at headquarters [...].
     This evening the visitors will be entertained at Exposition Music Hall. Mr. Joseph Otten has been training a chorus of 250 voices, chosen from the choirs of twelve German churches. [...] The programme will be [... Tschaikowsky ... Joseph Singenberger ... Grußadressen ...] and the chorus and orchestra will render Anton Bruckner's "Te Deum," a masterpiece of sacred composition. The composition abounds in solos and quartettes, which will be sung by Misses Kalkmann and Sommer and Messrs. Humphrey and Porteous. [...]. The exercises will close with "Groser Gott, wie loben dich," [sic] the German Te Deum, which will be sung by the chorus and the assembled crowd. [...]." (°)

 

und kündigt auf Seite 29 die kommende Chorprobenzeit an:
"     CHORAL SOCIETY REHEARSALS.
[...]
     The choral branch of the St. Louis Choral Symphony Society will begin work for the coming season a week from to-morrow night. [... Haydns Schöpfung ...]. During the summer Mr. Otten has been enlarging the choral field in this city by gathering together the German Catholic choirs into a chorus of nearly 300 voices, who will sing to-night at Grand Music Hall Anton Bruckner's celebrated "Te Deum," as part of the exercises of the German Roman Catholic Convention. This body will probably become a permanent organization but a number of them have expressed a desire to join the present choral organization. [...]." (°°).

 

Bei dieser "Te deum"-Aufführung war u.a. Joseph H. Auler [als Mitwirkender oder Zuhörer?] dabei, der sich im März 1925, offensichtlich nicht als einziger, daran erinnert und die Behauptung, die Aufführung am 11.3.1925 sei die erste in St. Louis gewesen, korrigiert – allerdings in Unkenntnis der allerersten Aufführung am 1.12.1891 (°°°).

Als weitere Mitwirkende erinnert sich später auch Mrs. E. Kohlberg an eine "Te deum"-Aufführung in St. Louis [an diese?], meint aber möglicherweise jene vom 1.12.1891 (#).
