Aufführung der 3. Symphonie unter Labitzky in Karlsbad (*).

The Inter Ocean Nr. 41 berichtet auf S. 3 vom Konzert am 3.5.1900 mit dem "Te deum":
"           MILWAUKEE'S MUSICAL EVENT.
Five Thousand People Attend Last Night's Concert.
Special Dispatch to The Inter Ocean.
MILWAUKEE, Wis., May 3.–Nearly 5.000 people attended the gala concert of the Milwaukee Musical society tonight at the exposition building, and from a musical standpoint it was the greatest success of recent years. The soloists were Mme. Gadski, Mme. Schumann-Heink, Mr. Andreas Dippel, Mr. David B. Bispham und Rudolph Schmidt [Bariton], while the chorus comprised 600 voices, the blending of the Milwaukee Musical society, a Capalla chorus, Arion and Cecilian choirs, Milwaukee maennerchor, and Lyric Glee club, supported by the Metropolitan Symphony orchestra of Chicago, which supplied eighty instruments, Eugene Luening being the director. [... "The acoustics were very poor" ...]
[... Ouvertüre von Henry Schoenefeld ... Beethovens Egmont ...] was performed by the Metropolitan orchestra, under the baton of Mr. Luening, with beautiful effect, which was almost entirely lost by the disturbance created by the comers, but the beauties of Brucker's [sic] "Te Deum" were produced with fine effect by the soloists, chorus, and orchestra, the organ supplying a religious fervor and Mr. Dippel singing in better voice than he did Tuesday [1.5.1900] night.
[... weitere Werke, darunter ein Wiener Volkslied (Männerchor von 300 Sängern), Quintett aus den "Meistersingern" ...]. The programme concluded with Kaun's festival march, a composition written specially for the occasion." (**).
