Auf S. 184 informiert eine Anzeige, dass bei Doblinger die Orchesterpartitur und ein vierhändiger Klavierauszug (von Schalk und Löwe bearbeitet) zur 9. Symphonie erschienen sind (**).

 

The Philadelphia Inquirer Nr. 103 kündigt auf S. 8 eine Aufführung der 3. Symphonie an:
"     NEWS OF THE MUSICAL SEASON
[... Abbildungen: Richard Strauss, Mme. Strauss de Ahne, Jacques Thibaud, Miss Adele Aus der Ohe) ... Gastspiel des Boston Symphony Orchestra ...]
              The Philadelphia Orchestra

     As previously announced, the fourth season of the Philadelphia Orchestra under Mr. Fritz Scheel will begin an the Academy of Music with a public rehearsal on Freiday afternoon, October 30, to be followed by a concert the next evening. [... Programm und Solistin (Adele Aus der Ohe) ...].
     An important novelty to be produced during the season is the Mahler symphony [... andere Werke ...] Bruckner's Symphony No. 3, Bach's Suite in D Major, [... weitere Werke ... Vorverkauf ...]." (***).

 

The Houston Post Nr. 189 (Houston, Texas) schreibt auf S. 15 in der 4./5. Spalte über Richard Wagners Begabung als Sänger und erwähnt das Treffen vom 4.3.1875:
"     We had occasion to refer last week to the fact that Richard Wagner was a hopelessly poor performer on any imstrument, though we did not mention what is equally true, though not so generally, known about him, and that ist, that he could sing grandly. But he never did before big audiences. Heckel records that in Vienna in 1875 he heard the master sing the third act of "Die Götterdämmerung" with Joseph Rubenstein [sic] at the piano. "It was prodigious," writes Heckel, "and favored indeed were those who had the privilege of listening." Among the listeners were the Baroness von Dohnhof [recte: Dönhoff] and Anton Bruckner." (°).
